GIANT MOOSE
The Giant Moose is one of the most appreciated antlers in the world. It is distributed along Northeastern Siberia, which is from the peninsula of Kamchatka to the North. It is the biggest moose in the world, comparable to the North American one.
THE HUNT
We usually say that if not because of hunting, we wouldn’t have ever visit some of the most remotes corners in the world, and we wouldn’t have ever saw those landscapes, met those people or lived that experience. We wouldn’t have those beautiful memories that later converts into lifetime experiences or lifetime hunts, however you prefer to call it. So, when talking about the Giant Moose, our minds light that alarm noting that we are in front of a very unique experience. But, if besides a great trip we harvest a majestic trophy, then my only question is “when?”.
The hunt is mostly conducted on motorboats in Magadan (or snowmobiles in Kamchatka), driving along the rivers and look for the biggest mooses. Once a nice trophy is spotted, then we go ashore and organize the stalk that must end with the shot. Some walking must be required but due to the ground is some hilly but not mountainous, a moderated shape should be enough.
THE HUNTING AREA
Our main hunting area is located in northern Magadan, bordering with Chukotka region where the biggest mooses are found. In fact, most of our harvests in our area are gold medal, becoming an extraordinary place to get a dream trophy. The area is quite remote in the Russian tundra, in a huge wilderness paradise not rich in vegetation excepting a bunch of trees and small grass.
The hunters are accommodated in a base camp or in heated tents that are carried on while hunting as fly camp is possible.
The area is also the habitat for Siberian Brown Bear, Caribou, Wolf or even the Kolyma Snow Sheep. However, one must know that these hunts are by chance and results are not as guaranteed as the Giant Moose.
