EUROPEAN MOOSE
The European Moose (also called European Elk, Eurasian Elk or West Siberian Moose) differs quite a lot from the Siberian or North American ones. To our eyes, the coat of the European Moose is still brownish but lighter in colour, with less contrast and seasonal change. Its nose is shorter and less humped. Finally, its horns are comparably smaller and can be more flattened or palmate and cervine. Only palmate ones (25P) are accepted in the SCI Record Book.
It inhabits the North of Europe from Norway to West Siberia in Russia. It is considered to exist a large number of them, being in Sweden one of the most popular hunts.
